Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament Shaip Kamberi has reacted after the imposition of US sanctions on the leaders of organized crime in northern Kosovo, Zvonko Veselinovic and his associates.
In a Facebook post, Kamberi wrote that Veselinovic and Radojcic are inseparable from the current government in Belgrade and that sanctions are needed to expand on their collaborators in Serbia, who are hindering peace, democratization and progress in the region.
“Apart from the fight against organized crime and corruption, the recent positive decision of the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control against the group of Zvonko Veselinovic and Milan Radojcic is even more important in its political sense.
Milan Radojcic is officially the deputy chairman of the “Srpska” List in Kosovo, a structure that is controlled and directed directly by the current government in Serbia. Also, the investigative media (such as BIRN and KRIK) have several times increased the closeness of Zvonko Veselinovic with the current authorities in Serbia. Over the years, the companies of Veselinovic and Radojcic have officially won the most important public tenders of the current government in Serbia.
“Therefore, for these sanctions to be even more effective, they must be extended to their collaborators in Serbia, who hinder peace, democratization and progress in the region,” Kamberi wrote.
