While many are heading to the beaches to escape the heat, in Australia citizens are enjoying the winter holidays.
The alpine areas of southeastern Australia are covered in snow – more than usual for this time of year – causing the ski season to start early.
“It was an absolutely extraordinary start to the season. We opened a week earlier. There is more snowfall than usual. – said Rhylla Morgan
“Everything is open. All tracks are working. “The coffee is delicious. We are having a great time,” said visitor Daynis Olman
“I actually work for a German company, and when my colleagues asked me where they were going, they were surprised I came here for skiing. “Everyone said it was impossible, but here we are, it’s a miracle,” said visitor Matilda Heggie.
The local weather forecasting agency says more snow will fall thanks to a frozen ice storm in Antarctica.
