Spain will send this Friday to Ukraine, its first shipment of offensive weapons, to help fight the Russian occupation.
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles said the cargo would include 1,370 anti-tank grenade launchers, light machine guns and 700,000 rifle cartridges and automatic ammunition.
“All of this will go with Spanish Air Force planes to a location in Poland near the border, where Ukrainian officials will pick it up,” Robles said in an interview with Spanish television.
Further, Robles added that the weapons sent are very important for individual defense and for those who do not have much experience in their use.
Earlier, it was Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez who offered to send some military defense equipment to Ukraine, in addition to his humanitarian aid to it.
