Journalist Anila Hoxha told Top Channel that former Minister of Health Ilir Beqja crossed the threshold of the Special Prosecutor’s Office all alone and without a lawyer, and is answering in the capacity of a declarant on a series of questions directed by prosecutor Edvin Kondili, but which, according to Top Channel sources, are being carried out by judicial police officers of the National Bureau of Investigation and are related to the sterilization file on medical equipment, as well as the agreement made in 2015, when Ilir Beqaj was the Minister of Health, who later, in 2017, he left this position.
Earlier, during the last few days, the Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj, as well as all the members of the Bid Evaluation Commission were asked about this mega file which was reported to SPAK in December 2019, just a few days after SPAK had starting from the task.
The investigations conducted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, on the sterilization of several million euros, which has a number of question marks not only from the civil society’s denunciation, but also from the fact that the prosecutors are still following these investigations, in fact, as it is known, has culminated in the seizure and a series of documents, among them the closed file at the Tirana prosecutor’s office, which was led at that time by prosecutor Endrit Bini, but who closed this investigation, since according to him, there was no criminal offense.
Currently, investigations are underway for three criminal offenses: abuse of office, corruption and violation of equality in tenders. There are still no persons under investigation or accused. Ilir Beqaj is being questioned in SPAK, that he is being questioned as a former minister of health in the capacity of the declarant regarding the signing of the 2015 contract for the concessionaire with a private company known as “Sani Service” and that there are accusations that the head of she has an acquaintance with the former minister of health Ilir Beqaj.
