Friends of Vladimir Putin’s partner Alina Kabaeva have asked her to go to Moscow to persuade the Russian president to end the war in Ukraine.
“Alina’s friends are begging him to go to Putin and convince him to end the war“, Said a source for PageSix.
“He does not seem to be listening to anyone, but maybe he can hear him. Putin is surrounded by strict security forces. “Alina says she does not know if she can reach him and even if she does, she does not know if she will be able to go out again to be with their children.”said the sources.
Earlier this month PageSix reported that the Russian president is suspected of hiding his girlfriend and their children in the neutral European country.
Kabaeva, the Olympic gold medalist, reportedly has four children, two boys and a twin girl with the 69-year-old, though the two have never officially confirmed it.
The children are suspected of being born in Switzerland and all have Swiss passports, according to a source, who says Kabaeva, 38, is believed to have passports of various nationalities.
“Alina can travel with different passports. “She flies private planes and would not risk traveling under her name.”
Kabaeva and the children are said to be hiding in a luxury private home owned by a Putin loyalist near the French border.
While the Swiss government is suspected of not having accurate information whether Kabaeva and her children with Putin are taking refuge in the country.
Meanwhile, more than 50,000 people have demanded that Kabaeva and her children be deported from Switzerland because of Putin’s actions.
Citizens of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus have appealed to the Swiss confederation with a petition on ‘Change.org’, comparing Kabaeva to Hitler’s wife.
Switzerland’s decision not to remain neutral and to take a tough stance on Russia surprised the international community greatly.
The Swiss Federal Council announced on February 28 that it had frozen the assets of a list of Russian individuals and companies.
Kabaeva is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of gymnastics, with two Olympic medals, 14 World Championship medals and 21 European Championship medals. International pressure is mounting to strip her of her medals.
Kabaeva, once called “Russia’s most flexible woman,” later became a pro-Kremlin deputy for eight years.
But unlike other Russians in Putin’s inner circle, Kabaeva has not been sanctioned.
It is also reported that Putin also hid his first wife, former flight attendant Lyudmila Shkrebneva, and their two daughters in an “underground city” in Siberia.
The high-tech bunker is located in the Altai Mountains and is designed to protect against a nuclear war, according to political scientist Valery Solovey.
Observers have seen a fan in the terrain surrounding the mountain shelter and a high-voltage line connected to a 110-kilowatt substation, enough to power a small town.
