The police of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland for the first time seek the help of Albanian citizens, setting a reward of 10’000 francs for any information that will lead to the identification and punishment of the perpetrators of a murder in 1999.
The Zurich police report states that on November 3, 1999, in Schlieren, a 20-year-old man from northern Macedonia was fatally wounded by gunfire at the time.
While his companion was injured.
The victims were Albanians from Northern Macedonia living in the Canton of Solothurn.
An 18-year-old person from Albania was identified as a suspect.
For this he was imprisoned in Italy in 2000 and extradited to Switzerland in 2002.
In the absence of sufficient evidence, the trial against him was suspended in 2003.
Investigations to date have revealed that various criminal offenses were committed, presumably, by persons in the circle of the suspect and the victim.
There is a suspicion that the persons involved and interrogated are knowingly restricted in providing information on the killer and his motive in order not to burden themselves.
Persons from the then circle of participants, with knowledge of the act and motive, should contact the Zurich Canton Police, making available the sum of 10,000 francs.
