The government will review the law on profit tax and that on personal income.
This was announced by the Minister of Finance Delina Ibrahimaj at the meeting of the Investment Council, according to which the draft that is being worked in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund will soon be submitted for public consultation.
“A large part of the recommendations related to these important topics have begun to be evaluated because, as I said, they have been part of our internal discussions. I can say that the law on personal income tax is being revised. We have almost a draft which has been worked in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and very soon we will discuss it internally and issue it for public consultation. ”Delina Ibrahimaj.
But, these will not be the only interventions that the finances will make, as the government is expected to review, among others, some of the fiscal exemptions made over the years that have not given the expected effects.
“One of the main problems that the business has had in terms of fiscal legislation has been its frequent change and non-consultation of some elements. For these reasons, during the last two years, the Ministry of Finance and Economy has worked to draft a Medium Term Revenue Strategy, which provides for a series of interventions in fiscal legislation, with the aim of canceling those exceptions which have not proved to be effective. to assist economic sectors. ” Delina Ibrahimaj.
This year is expected to enter into force starting in July a series of changes in taxes and levies made through the new fiscal package that affects both individuals and businesses.
