The Special Court against Crime and Corruption on Thursday issued security measures for ten Interior Ministry officials charged with the uniform tender.
Former director of the Centralized Procurement Agency at the Ministry of Interior, Edlira Naqellari was sentenced to one year in prison. Flutura Çekrezi was also sentenced to one year in prison, while Kreshnik Bejkaj, Fatmir Demneri and Maringlen Buzali were sentenced to 10 months each.
Anisa Bogdani, Ani Omuri, Aurora Mulla, Klevis Hasani and Gëzim Mingaj were released on bail.
Nine officials were arrested for abuses with the 2.8 billion ALL tender of State Police uniforms, who were accused of “abuse of duty” and “violation of equality in tenders”.
Abuses with the tender of the uniforms of the Ministry of Interior have been ascertained in relation to the quality, quantity and price of the uniforms.
As part of the investigation to uncover this corrupt affair, it turns out that the SPAK is assisted by two persons who agreed to cooperate with justice.
One of the evidences is the merger of the two tenders, that of production and distribution of shoes, with that of clothing, which has limited the opportunity for more than one company to participate in the competition.
