The 20 players who have scored the most penalties in this century

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo leads for most of the penalties scored in club football in the 21st century, ahead of Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The realization of penalties has turned the winner of the “Golden Ball” five times towards the status of the best goal scorer.

“PopFoot” compiled data on how well the players performed from the penalty spot for their clubs and Ronaldo came out on top.

Ronaldo, who has scored more headers than any other player this century, has successfully scored 128 penalties in his extraordinary career.

The number of the 37-year-old Portuguese striker from the penalty spot is expected to be much higher if we take into account the penalties scored for Portugal.

Despite not being the appointed penalty taker from Manchester United and Portugal, Ronaldo’s teammate Bruno Fernandes managed to secure his place in the top 20.

Messi finished behind rival on the field, Ronaldo in the standings, with Paris Saint-Germain superstar scoring 84 penalties.

Milan striker Ibrahimovic secured third place with 78 penalties scored, while Roma legend Francesco Totti and Ciro Immobile came in third and fourth respectively.
