Albania and Germany have signed an agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses. Almost 130 thousand Albanian residents living in Germany are expected to benefit from this agreement.
Minister Belinda Balluku said that the reforms created credibility for the German authorities. But Germany is not the only country that has praised Albania’s progress.
Albania has currently signed agreements with Italy, Greece, Northern Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile, agreements are under way with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
While Belgium, Austria, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Poland recognize and convert the Albanian driving license without agreement. During the period 2019-2021, more than 15 thousand Albanians have converted their driving licenses in the countries where they live thanks to these agreements.
