I have never used drugs, alcohol or cigarettes.
It was difficult for my family, people who knew me asked me how it was possible. It was a mistake and UEFA accepted it, but it did not help me and I had received my penalty. During the suspension period I was not allowed to train with any of the coaches at the Ajax club, I could not even go to the stadium. At one point it seemed to me like football was being taken away from me and there was nothing I could do about it.
I then went to Spain with a personal trainer, an athletic trainer, and my psychologist. I had seven people working for me, these people helped me a lot and nine months seemed like five. I did not think I would play for Ajax right away, but they trusted me. Now I’m back with the mentality of being the best in my role.
