Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has invited eight members of the public to join him on a lunar voyage on Elon Musk’s SpaceX flight.
“I want people of all walks of life to join me on this journey“, He said through a video on Twitter, where he shared details on how to apply. Maezawa said he would pay for the entire trip, so people on board with him would fly for free.
The mission, called DearMoon, is scheduled to launch in 2023. Applicants must meet two criteria: they must advance in “any activity” with which to assist and accompany others in one form or another, and second, to be ready to support other crew members who share similar aspirations ”.
“I bought all the places so it will be a private trip“, Said the fashion mogul. Maezawa, who is also an art collector, explained that he originally planned to invite artists on this rare journey, but the now-revised project offers this opportunity to different people from all over the globe.
“If you see yourself as an artist, then you are“, Said the billionaire. The 2023 mission will be the first to take humans to Earth’s only space satellite since 1972.
