The draw for the 84th edition of the national championship has been made in the conference hall of the “Air Albania” stadium.
The general secretary Ilir Shulku and the head of the competition sector Marjus Sulejmani, in the presence of the representatives of the clubs of the Abissnet Superiore category, determined the journey of the 10 teams in the 4 phases of the new season 2022/2023.
The specifics of this draw were the avoidance of the clash of the matches of the capital teams such as Tirana and Partizan as they will play their matches at the national stadium “Air Albania”, also Teuta with Erzeni and Shijak whose matches this season will be both of these teams play in the stadium “Niko Dovana” in the city of Durrës.
For the first time in the history of our championship, there will be two seasonal interruptions, in November and December, since the World Championship Qatar 2022 will take place in that period and also for the first time the Super Cup of Albania, which this season has the confrontation of the Albanian football classic between Tirana, the champion, and Vllaznia, the winner of the Cup of the Republic, will be played in December and not on the eve of the season.
The mix of goals then determined the confrontation of 10 teams in the 36 weeks of this edition which starts earlier than usual on 20.08.2022 and will end with the last week on 24.05.2023.
One of the most important matches of the championship, as it is considered the derby of the capital between Tirana and Partizan, just like last year, will be played in the sixth week, with the only difference that in the first match Partizan will be the host.
In this new season of Superior, the two new teams that have come from the First Category are Bylisi and Erzeni, while the third team from the capital, Dinamo, will be absent, which went down a category together with Skënderbeu.
