The Competition Authority has fired the director of the Legal, Integration and Judicial Affairs Directorate, Indrit Reka, after he denounced on “Top Channel” the agreement between the flour companies for market monopolization and price fixing.
On September 30, 2021, Reka told in an interview with Top Channel how five companies had monopolized the flour market and yet they managed to escape the fine of 5 million euros thanks to the vote of three members of the “Competition”, who declared that there is insufficient evidence that the increase in the price of bread has been made by importers.
After Reka appeared on September 30, 2021 on “Top Channel” television, the Secretary General of the Competition Authority, Diana Dërvishi, has ordered the establishment of a commission to punish Indri Reka.

The Disciplinary Commission consisted of Diana Dervishi herself, chairwoman and members Thoma Koleka, Daniela Laze, Dhurata Skënderi and Anisa Buxheli.
On January 24, 2022, the Commission decided to dismiss Indrit Reka, justifying the decision to dismiss, the commission, among other things, states that Mr. Indrit Reka, out of functional duties as Director of Legal, Integration and Judicial Affairs has given an interview for Top Channel television on the issue of the flour market investigation.

The Disciplinary Commission set up against him has considered the interview given to Top Channel television a serious violation and should be punished with dismissal. According to this commission, Reka has not implemented the legal provisions for the fulfillment of duties and has disseminated untrue facts on the decision-making of the members of the Competition Authority, seriously damaging the image of this institution.

On September 29, 2021, the Competition Authority closed the in-depth investigation into the market of wheat import, production and trade of flour without any fines.
