A polite family who helped an adorable street “puppy” quickly realized that “they had bitten more than they could chew” as the baby turned out to be a coyote, the American wild half-wolf.
The unnamed American family thought they were doing something good when they took home the “stressed” puppy before realizing how it was and sending the animal to the local wildlife center.
The wildlife center in Massachusetts announced the development in a post on Facebook saying that the eastern coyote was separated from his herd.
“The animal was accidentally sent with a local family after being mistakenly identified as a missing dog,” the statement said.
Dozens of wildlife followers on Facebook admitted it was a misunderstanding, with one saying: “I too could have confused him with a puppy. He is very loving. “
While others told about the experiences of finding coyotes.
One woman said she had rescued a group of newborn coyotes, but warned that they quickly became aggressive.
Another argued that coyotes never become “aggressive or capricious” but said they had lived with his family for 16 years.
Experts say these animals can be quickly exposed to rabies so they should get the appropriate vaccines.
The animal center said that in this case “the end was happy” with the coyote cub, but in other cases it could have ended even worse.
