Demolitions in the “May 5” area continue this Tuesday, where 12 buildings are part of the next action.
Unlike previous weeks there was no opposition or resistance from residents.
Since the morning, both police and IMT staff have cordoned off the area to begin the demolition process.
Although some residents did not accept the agreement offered by the municipality of Tirana, they did not choose to resist and the process continued smoothly.
Not all planned buildings collapsed on Tuesday. One of the 6-storey buildings was left for the action of the following days.
Demolitions in the May 5 area are being carried out to pave the way for the reconstruction project. Affected residents will receive full compensation through the exchange of houses in the new buildings to be built, with the same meters2 available.
