The families of the fighters housed at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol have called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, urging him to “be a hero” and launch a rescue operation for all remaining fighters at the plant.

Ukraine has offered to release Russian prisoners of war in exchange for evacuating wounded Ukrainian soldiers from the besieged Azovstal steel plant. It is thought that there are still several hundred soldiers in the last part of the plant, where Russia continues intense bombing.
