David McMichael, 67, was arrested this week in Texas, USA when police came to his home to search for his son, Jason.
He is already accused of abusing the body of the deceased after it was learned that Jason had died in 2018.
Four years after his son’s death, McMichael was arrested following a rude revelation by authorities at his New Boston home, 150 miles northeast of Dallas, USA.
When officers asked if McMichael knew if his son was where, he immediately responded that his body was in the kitchen, a police spokesman said.
New Boston Police already say they are investigating how Jason died in May 2018.
A spokesman for them said: “Officers came to the scene and asked David McMichael, the father of the fugitive.
“He immediately responded that he had stored his body in the kitchen, adding that his son had died in May 2018.
“Officers entered the house and then found the body of the man. David McMichael was later remanded in custody for questioning.
An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death.
A spokesman said: “After examining the remains it was determined that the body belonged to a man, possibly Jason McMichael.”
Police said David McMichael is being held in custody to continue the investigation.
