Deputy Attorney General Thoma Jano will hold the status of magistrate until the age of 70.
Anila Hoxha reports that this was decided by unanimous votes by the government of the prosecution, otherwise known as the High Council of the Prosecution following Janos’s request for the incumbent magistrate Mr. Thoma Jano, up to the age of 70.
The decision was given during a meeting on Friday by all 11 members of the council and in the presence of international observers – said Anila Hoxha.
Thoma Jano has been elected Deputy Attorney General since 2019 and has held the position of Chief of Electronic Communications since 2006.
Deputy General Prosecutor Jano, according to the data presented in the KLP is 66 years old and from July 6, 2020 he turns out to have passed the vetting with a final decision.
After his term as Deputy Attorney General ended in 2019, when justice was still in the transition of reform, Thoma Jano was reappointed to the same position by Attorney General Olsian Cela, as he was the only candidate who expressed interest at the time. Due to his long career in the wiretapping department he is otherwise known as the secret prosecutor.
