The signatures of Enkelejd Alibeaj and Lulzim Basha were added to the initiative for setting up an investigative commission for strategic investments in the country as a request from the PD parliamentary group, while Agron Duka withdrew.
“The PD Parliamentary Group has re-submitted today the corrected request with the signatures of not less than 35 deputies of the Albanian Parliament, after the withdrawal of the deputy Agron Duka. We would like to emphasize that for the initiating deputies, the implementation of the law and the protection of the public interest are the primary task of the deputies of the Albanian Parliament. The purpose of setting up the Commission of Inquiry is not the specific targeting of any legitimate investor, but to identify abuses with the law and take measures to curb these negative, corrupt and clientelistic phenomena. “Public assets can never be loot for Edi Rama’s friends and family, and the Assembly’s task is to take measures to stop abuses by enforcing the law on strategic investments and to hold accountable anyone who has broken the law.” PD.
