The leaders of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, on July 8, held an online meeting for the intensification of cooperation within the “Open Balkans” initiative, as well as agreed on a meeting of the working group on energy issues.
As the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated on his Instagram account, he and the Prime Ministers of Albania and North Macedonia, Edi Rama and Dimitar Kovacevski, agreed on a meeting of the Working Group for cooperation in the fields of energy and food security and finance, which will be held in Tirana in mid-July.
Today’s meeting, as it was said, is dedicated to the intensification of cooperation with the aim of jointly overcoming the difficulties for the supply of food and energy.
Also, the leaders of the “Open Balkans” discussed the upcoming meeting and the wine and food fair that will be held in Belgrade in September, organized by the “Open Balkans” initiative.
“We agreed that this great and unique event, which we believe will turn into a good friendly tradition, is also an extraordinary promotion of our three countries, but also an opportunity for producers from the region to come together and present their best and exclusive products”, Vucic wrote on Instagram.
The leaders agreed on the creation of mixed working groups of the departments on the topics of crisis and on the formation of a joint agency for the attraction of foreign investments, it is stated in the announcement of the Government of North Macedonia.
It was also added that the three leaders emphasized the importance of the activities undertaken to strengthen the regional connection and to enable the free movement of people, capital, goods and services.
