Although full-time parents acknowledge the difficulties in finding new children’s names, 39-year-old father Carlos says he will continue the tradition started with the first 16.
The mother of 16 has never used contraception and has no plans to stop giving birth as she thinks about the name of the 17th.
Patty Hernandez from Charlotte, USA says she feels “very fertile” so the family will soon have a new member.
The 40-year-old mother says that even with the new baby she will continue the loving tradition that started with the names of her children, who always start with ‘C’.
It started in honor of their 39-year-old father Carlos.
Speaking to the British daily The MirrorPatty said, “We are striving for baby number 17. We are only doing the will of God and our prayer for him is to add even more to our family if He wills.”
“We always wanted a big family but we did not think God would bless us this way.”
“I know I can conceive again, I feel fertile and I trust in God.”
“For the new baby we are thinking of the name Carter if it is a boy and Clair if it is a girl.”
Patty runs a cleaning company and gave birth to her 16th child Clayton, in May last year.
Although it was her most difficult pregnancy, she described the birth as a belief in God.
Before Clayton was born, she admitted that she and her husband were unable to find a “C” name.
“We could not find a name when Clayton suddenly came to my mind.
“All the children start with the name ‘C’ and we wanted to continue this. My husband’s name is Carlos… this is a tribute to him. ”
Patty points out that in the latter case all the nurses at the hospital knew her when she went to give birth.
She says: “They seemed to say ‘if you were here last year, we would meet every year.'”
Feeding this giant family is an easy task, as the bill reaches up to $ 800 every two weeks, but Patty wanted to emphasize that they do not receive any help from the government.
