This morning, RENEA carried out an action in Laç, where checks were carried out in several businesses and locals.
Sources for Top Channel suggest that several people have been accompanied.
It is learned that the control was carried out in function of the investigation to uncover the murder of Shkëlzen Kastrati in Fier. A “Glock” weapon was found in a hut near a complex, but it remains unclear if it belongs to the perpetrators. New details are expected to be revealed by the expertise.
The four perpetrators declared wanted for the execution of Kastrati have been identified as: Albert Zaja, 37 years old and Elmir Tufa, 29 years old, resident of Fushë Krujë; Elson Xhecuka, 27 years old, resident in Kamza and Silvio alias Roland Cara 39 years old, resident in Tirana.
Kastrati was executed on February 1 at the roundabout at the entrance of Fier, while coming from this direction with his Mercedes Benz vehicle, while the perpetrators were following him with a Range Rover vehicle, from where they shot him. The victim lost control of the car and collided with another vehicle on this road, in which father and daughter were, endangering their lives. The victim lost his life immediately after the assassination.
The perpetrators left the scene and a few minutes later, at the overpass of the village Baltëz, in the Fier By-pass, the police found the Range Rover burned. The investigative group, inside this vehicle, also found the automatic weapon, with which it is suspected that the execution took place.
The execution of Shkëlzen Kastrati is suspected to be a continuation of the murder that took place in 2016 in Fier, where the target was Klement Kastrati, the victim’s brother. The target along with another person were injured, while a citizen from Patos was killed.
