The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, meanwhile commented on the reactions of the public and the opposition that the government has not taken all the necessary measures and that is why the state still does not have vaccines against COVID-19. The head of government said that the lack of vaccines is not related to the work of the government, but to the delays in their delivery by manufacturing companies.
“This has nothing to do with our lack of seriousness in the procurement of vaccines. I want to assure the citizens that we as a government have done more than we need to provide the necessary quantities of vaccines. The agreement from Pfizer has been reached, by the end of March we will be receiving 21,000 doses of vaccines. “In the second quarter of the year we will receive larger quantities”, declared Zaev.
According to him, Northern Macedonia has so far ordered 2.5 million doses of vaccines from various manufacturers and one million citizens should be vaccinated for immunization of the population.
Northern Macedonia has so far received about 8,000 vaccines as a donation from Serbia and they are being used to vaccinate medical personnel.
