The producer of the “Oscars 2022” award ceremony, Will Packer, has indicated that the police were ready to arrest Will Smith after the incident that happened with Chris Rock.
In an interview with “Good Morning America”, Will said that if Chris wanted Will to be arrested, the officers would have put him directly in handcuffs, but the comedian said that everything was fine.
Packer also said that Chris ignored the incident and decided not to make any accusations against Smith by allowing him to continue his stay at the ceremony, where he won the “Best Actor” award and delivered an emotional speech.
Actor Smith shocked members of the audience and viewers at the Oscars when he hit Chris in the middle of the stage, because of the “no salt” joke about his wife’s cut hair.
Critics demanded that he be stripped of the Best Actor award for his role in the film King Richard after the incident, but it did not happen.
