The United States will provide nearly $ 55 million in immediate aid to Afghanistan because of the earthquake that devastated everything last week.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the decision this Tuesday, as the U.S. has previously sent kitchenware, water, blankets, clothing and other necessary items to the devastated areas.
“The earthquake intensified the ongoing humanitarian crisis that the Afghan people have endured for a long time.” said Blinken according to Reuters.
In the devastating earthquake at least 1,000 people lost their lives, more than 3,000 others were injured and 10,000 homes were destroyed.
