Footage from the ferry helicopter that was engulfed in flames in the early hours of the morning has been made public. The images show how the trucks are completely burned while it is suspected that the fire was caused by them, but it still remains unverified.
Among other things, smoke is still coming out of the ferry and about 11 people are still missing. This has been made known by the counting of other persons who had boarded the lifeboats. The search-and-rescue operation is still ongoing to find the missing passengers while 2 are learned to have been trapped inside the ship.
There were 239 passengers and 51 crew members on board. As soon as it was engulfed in flames, the ferry captain requested and ordered its abandonment and the passengers immediately boarded the lifeboats. Three Greek Coast Guard ships, tugboats and other nearby ships arrived at the scene immediately.
