The former vice-mayor of the Municipality of Skenderaj, Nuredin Lushtaku, is wanted by law enforcement authorities for injuring police officers.
The Basic Prosecutor’s Office of Mitrovica has issued a decision on his arrest and the determination of the measure of detention.
“After gathering sufficient evidence for this case, the guardian prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica has issued the arrest decision for the suspect NL, but he has not yet been found by the police and is being sought. As soon as he is arrested, a request will be submitted to him for the determination of the measure of detention due to the aforementioned criminal offenses”clarifies the announcement of the Foundation of Mitrovica.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office requested the appointment of detention measures for the other two suspects, family members of Lushtak.
“The Department of Serious Crimes has requested from the Basic Court in Mitrovica the appointment of detention for the suspects FL and AL, due to the well-founded suspicion that they have committed the criminal offenses of “Assault on an official person”, “Use of a weapon or means of dangerous”, as well as “Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons”.
It is suspected that Nuredin Lushtaku and his family attacked two police officers in Skenderaj at midnight on Saturday after a fine was issued for a traffic violation.
