The court of Tirana has passed for trial the file against three foreign citizens, 2 Cameroonians and a French woman. The prosecution has charged them with counterfeiting money and fraud with serious consequences.
Defendants were Jennifer Chollet, Zinedine Nkeh and Zinedine. Foreign citizens have denied the accusations of introducing in Albania hundreds of thousands of counterfeit euros and “Lastra” letters.
These citizens in cooperation with each other have tried to put into circulation in the territory of the Republic of Albania about 1 million Euros, banknotes which have been seized from the citizen Jose Ngankam.
During the control by the Police services, in February, significant quantities of suspected counterfeit banknotes and plates (papers used to produce banknotes of various denominations) were found in the luggage of this citizen. Police seized 1 million 75 thousand euros suspected of counterfeiting, plates, special paper for the production of euro banknotes and a mobile phone.
