The police operation codenamed “Hackers” is finalized, to crack down on computer fraud.
They robbed the accounts of various citizens on social networks and demanded money to return them, 2 citizens were handcuffed.
Seized 1 computer device, 2 mobile phones, suspected forged educational documents and various other documents.
Unit “C” for the Investigation of Cybercrime in the Investigation Directorate in the Criminal Police Department in the General Directorate of State Police, in cooperation with the Computer Crime Section in DVP Tirana and in coordination with the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Judicial District Tirana, based on the investigations carried out for a case of criminal activity in the field of computer fraud, finalized the police operation codenamed “Hackers”
As a result of the investigative actions carried out within this operation, the following citizens were detained:
Pashuk Alia, 59 years old, resident in Tirana, teacher by profession, for the criminal offenses “Computer fraud”, committed in collaboration and “Forgery of school documents”;
Liridon Peka, 37 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense “Computer Fraud”, committed in collaboration.
Several months of investigations have shown that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, stole accounts on social networks from various citizens, who were then asked for money to return their accounts.
Citizen LP, after administering accounts on social networks, stolen by various users, contacted them to pay money for the return of accounts, while citizen PA withdrew from the money transfer units, the amounts obtained from this criminal activity.
Following the investigative actions, during the control were found some school documents (receipts), suspected forged, possessed by the citizen PA, which were seized as material evidence together with 1 computer device, 2 mobile devices, documents of institutions financial and various other documents.
The Cybercrime Investigation Unit is continuing the investigation to fully uncover this criminal activity in the field of cyber fraud.
The materials were sent to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Tirana Judicial District.
