For the first time, Tirana has its own philharmonic that consists of young instrumentalists who have graduated from the University of Arts, whose selection is made through auditions.
Greta Radovani is one of the violinists, part of the Tirana Philharmonic. She singles out this experience as one of the most special for her, but she also sees it as a space to grow professionally.
Greta Radovani, violinist: Activation is very important. After graduating from the university of arts, you do not know what you will do, where you will go, where you will practice knowledge, so first you have a space where you can grow professionally and have quality models. Collaborations with foreigners in terms of students are very limited and this is another thing with European models. They are very valuable for the formation of a new musician.
This philharmonic will also contribute to the national creativity, where in every concert there will be an Albanian work.
Arben Skenderi, Head of the Philharmonic: The Tirana Philharmonic is not only a project but an important initiative for young people for their employment but above all for their professional engagement. But we have made the decision to contribute to national creativity. Each concert will have an Albanian work.
The Philharmonic Orchestra, supported by the Municipality of Tirana, gave its first concert on February 11, for the 102nd anniversary of Tirana, the capital, at the Opera and Ballet Palace. The Philharmonic will be supported by local and foreign musicians as well as joint productions.
