March 9, 2022 marks the second anniversary of the launch of the COVID pandemic in our country, while we continue to be still under its clutches.
The first two cases in our country were father and son, in Tirana, who were followed by dozens of other infected and then the imposition of quarantine and anti-covid measures.
All life changed with the arrival of the pandemic, not only in our country, but all over the world. Out of fear of infection, distance was created, citizens were more aware, and online work became part of life.
In addition to the negative sides, the pandemic revealed dozens of hidden talents in our country.
The pandemic also brought an economic downturn to the country, recalling that our country was still with the unhealed wounds of the September and November 26 earthquakes that caused 51 casualties and left thousands of families homeless.
Since the onset of the pandemic, 272,337 positive cases have been reported and 267,672 infected have been cured.
3,483 lost their lives during this difficult war, among them doctors and nurses on the park line of the throne, who put the lives of the citizens first and then theirs.
Currently in our country there are 1182 active cases with COVID, where Tirana leads with 328 cases and is followed by Fieri with 201.
On March 2, the Technical Committee of Experts decided to lift the curfew, which stopped the movement of citizens from 23:00 to 06:00 in the morning except in emergencies.
It is still in force to keep the mask indoors or in places where distance can not be maintained.
It was also decided to reduce the isolation time for those affected by Covid-19 to five days and to administer the third booster dose five months after the second dose.
We continue to be still in pandemic, despite the decrease in cases of the last two weeks, while calling for vaccination.
