Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu in a live link for the show “Top Talk” commented on the relationship between Prime Minister Edi Rama and former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
According to him, Rama and Berisha have a silent pact, which has affected the criminal prosecution and non-arrest of Berisha, emphasizing that the agreements are not always written by political leaders.
“The DP has 110% of the battle with the USA and not only does it not have a battle or war with Edi Rama but I personally have been and will remain of the opinion that the only guarantee of non-criminal prosecution, of not arresting Berisha remains in power and Edi Rama “said Spahiu.
Based on this issue, he also commented on the justice systems in Albania.
Spahiu stressed that courts or prosecutors in Albania find it impossible to take legal action against politicians who are in office as long as there is no support from the government, but this can only be made possible thanks to foreign courts.
“Albania has not born a prosecutor or a judge to arrest an incumbent president or prime minister. If today there was political will from the government to arrest and prosecute Berisha, it would happen. I think the government has no will for that to happen. Only a foreign court can arrest Albanian presidents or prime ministers“, He said.
