Texas border officials yesterday arrested a man who was trafficking 76 immigrants in the body of his truck as the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border continues to worsen.
Authorities in Texas detained the driver from Honduras who had entered the country illegally, the network wrote FOX News.
Behind his truck were found dozens of men crammed under a blue plasma covering the vehicle and serving as a makeshift roof, police footage showed.
The unnamed driver was also in possession of drugs such as methamphetamine and had precedents for drugs and possession of weapons.
Border officials said the capture comes at a time of growing numbers of immigrants attempting to cross into the United States following the Biden administration’s cancellation of a policy known as “Title 42”, which was used to expel migrants quickly during the pandemic.
“We expect to have a lot of work,” a U.S. Border Patrol officer told Fox News.
