In a horrific incident from Spain, a 15-year-old boy shot to death his parents after a sentence they gave him when he was left behind in school lessons, police and local media said.
The teenager also killed his younger brother and had stayed two days living with the bodies of the victims at the family home on the Costa Blanca before admitting the crime.
The destabilized young man is believed to have used a shotgun to shoot first his mother and then his 10-year-old brother on Tuesday.
He then shot his father to death after waiting for him on his way home from work in the town of Elche, south of Alicante.
Police said the macabre tragedy may have been provoked when the parents punished the boy addicted to online games, for poor school results and lack of engagement at home.
They had banned the internet on their mobile phones and removed the teen’s gaming computer after they were notified he was left behind in lessons.
Reports suggest the teenager turned killer had failed five school year exams.
He had admitted to the killings when a neighbor asked him where his parents and younger brother were.
The boy had replied: “I killed him a few days ago.”
Other local reports suggest the killer boy’s aunt had found the bodies of the slain hiding in a barn after he had come home to search for loved ones.
Spanish police who are continuing the investigation, said that the young man has admitted the crimes but has not yet given an official statement about the serious event.
Since his arrest on Friday night, local media say his behavior appears “cold and calm”.
One of the media described the images inside the house as “from a Dante horror novel.”
Autopsies of the victims are taking place today as the family home is cordoned off by police following the investigation.
