A 20-year-old man from Lushnja has fallen into the hands of the police after helping third-country nationals cross the border.
He had previously been declared wanted as part of a group of three people transporting four foreign nationals.
The other two persons were caught red-handed together with the emigrants near the Kordhoca bridge and were detained by the police on 24.03.2022 during the operation “Road Guard 9”.
The police operation codenamed “Road Guard 9” continues. A citizen declared wanted for the criminal offense “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, committed in collaboration, is arrested and detained. Thanks to the cooperation and exchange of information between FAST Albania and the structures of DVP Gjirokastra, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance Gjirokastra, it was possible to arrest and detain the citizen DB, 20 years old, resident in Lushnja, declared wanted in as part of the police operation codenamed “Road Guard 9”. This citizen, the Court of First Instance Gjirokastra has assigned the security measure “Prison arrest”, for the criminal offense “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, committed in collaboration. The citizen DB was declared wanted because the investigative actions showed that he was a collaborator with the citizens EL and LN (arrested in flagrante delicto), who on 24.03.2022, in the axis Kakavije-Gjirokastra, in the place called “Kordhocë”, were caught transporting with their vehicle, 4 illegal immigrants from MENA countries. Materials against the citizen DB were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Gjirokastra Court of First Instance, for further action“, According to the police.
