Twenty bodies of victims are reported to have been found after yesterday’s crash of a plane in a mountainous area of Nepal.
The first images of the wreckage of the accident were published today by the country’s army after the disappearance on Sunday of the plane with 22 passengers.
Parts of the plane are seen scattered at the top crash site in Sanosware, Mustang.
Nepal’s army and police are still at the scene searching among the rubble.
To Raj Sitaula, a spokesman for Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital Kathmandu, the search for the missing continues.
The groups were seen working with bare hands and some of the larger metal rubble has not yet been moved.
Among the 19 passengers and 3 crew members on board the unfortunate plane were 13 Nepalese nationals, four from India and two Germans.
The Tara Air plane was flying 20 minutes from Pokhara resort, 125 miles west of Kathmandu, in the mountain town of Jomsom.
The vehicle lost contact with the airport 5 minutes before the time when it had to land in the frequented tourist area, which often welcomes tourists from Europe, India and locals from Nepal.
The weather in the area had been rainy but the flights had operated normally.
The plane was found at an altitude of 4,500 meters, while investigators are also searching in the gorge between the two mountains.
Nepal has some of the highest mountains in the world, including the summit of Everest, but it has also recorded some serious air accidents.
