Two criminal events are prevented, in Tirana and Elbasan / 30 wanted persons in handcuffs

Dozens of operations and mega-operations, hundreds arrested and prosecuted. Cocaine, cannabis, weapons arsenal, weapons modification workshops, narcotics plants, smuggled goods and illegal assets were seized this week by State Police structures across the country.

Two police mega-operations were successfully finalized:

Operation “Silent”, conducted by DVP Tirana, during which a base was discovered where silencers were produced and firearms were modified. In this environment were found and seized an arsenal of weapons such as pistols and Kalashnikovs, silencers, ammunition, various parts of weapons, etc.

Operation “Transit”, during which 45.5 kg of suspected narcotic cocaine were seized in a container in the Port of Durres, and 2 citizens were handcuffed.

Also, the Korça Police has uncovered the murder of a 26-year-old and the 3 suspected perpetrators of the murder have been handcuffed.

• During this week, 540 persons were arrested, prosecuted and declared wanted, out of which: 151 were arrested, 367 were prosecuted and 22 were declared wanted.

• A total of 30 wanted persons were apprehended, of which: 28 nationally wanted and 2 internationally wanted.

• As a result of DVP operations and beatings in the counties, quantities of suspected cannabis, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, MDMA, seeds, seedlings and suspected cannabis plants, various suspected smuggled goods, electronic scales were seized. 3 mobile phones, gambling machines, poker tables and 5 vehicles.

• In the field of illegal possession of weapons, 14 cases were identified and hit and 21 firearms were seized, a machine used for the production and modification of firearms parts, suitcases with parts for modification weapons, 1 sporting weapon, 4 noisemakers as those of pistol firearms, ammunition, 4 knives, other cold steel and jewelry allegedly stolen.

• 10 cases of opposition by police officers were cracked down on, and 54 cases of domestic violence were prosecuted.

• 22 cases of environmental crimes, 2 cases of arson, 3 cases of organizing games of chance and 5 cases of theft of electricity were identified and hit.

• In the field of narcotics, 46 cases were identified and hit, while in the field of economic crime, 27 cases were identified and hit.

• Timely intervention of police structures has prevented 2 criminal events, in Tirana and Elbasan.

Traffic Police / Monitoring on all road axes, using the intelligent car “Poliscan”, automatic license plate reader, automatic radars installed in the fleet of new vehicles, cameras and other uniformed vehicles.

During this week, 362 driving licenses were suspended, of which: 242 for speeding, 83 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drunk and 37 for driving in the opposite direction.

• 84 drivers were arrested, out of which: 35 for drunk driving and 49 for driving without a license.

• During this week, 6 wanted citizens were arrested, of which 4 in national search and 2 in international search.

• A joint police operation to crack down on cocaine trafficking was finalized, as a result of which 45.5 kg of cocaine were seized in the Port of Durrës, and 2 citizens were handcuffed.

• 10 citizens were prosecuted for the criminal offense “Illegal border crossing”; 6 citizens, for the criminal offense “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, 8 citizens, for the criminal offense “Forgery of documents”, and 2 citizens, for “Narcotics trafficking”.

• Also, 2 cases of bribery and 1 case of opposition of Police employees were hit, due to duty.
