A record two million people in the UK suffer from the effects of COVID.
The Office for National Statistics says that out of two million, 1.4 million said they had coronavirus or suspected of having the disease, at least 12 weeks ago, while 826,000 had passed it on at least a year ago, according to Sky News.
Another 376,000 said they were infected by Covid at least two years ago.
The condition is estimated to be adversely affecting the daily activities of 1.4 million people, about seven in 10 of whom reported having it.
A total of 398,000 people, one in five said their ability to undertake daily activities was “very limited”.
They added that the symptoms of post-COVID were higher in women, those aged 35 to 69, people living in more deprived areas, those working in social care, teaching and education or health care, and those with other health conditions or disabilities.
Fatigue continues to be the most common symptom, experienced by 55% of those with post COVID symptoms, while 23% of them have cough and 23% with muscle aches.
Specialists said the COVID-19 wave continues to decline in all states.
