Two persons, suspected as administrators of entities set up for the creation of cryptocurrencies in Durrës, have been arrested as part of a police operation codenamed “Kriptofarm”.
They are EH, 29 years old, resident in Tirana, acting as administrator of the entity established for the creation of cryptocurrencies, in the village of Pjezë, Shijak and EH, 57 years old, resident in Tirana, acting as administrator of the entity established for the creation of cryptocurrencies in the village of Fllakë, Durrës.
Police said the two administrators are charged with the criminal offenses of “Computer fraud”, “Unlicensed exercise of financial activities”, “Concealment of income” and “Laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity”.
During this operation, 3 citizens were also arrested in flagrante delicto and 4 others were declared wanted, who in cooperation with each other, have carried out actions for the establishment of two structures for the production of cryptocurrencies that are created through the introduction and change of computer data into electronic devices, creating monetary benefits.
In cooperation with the Prosecution of the Judicial District of Durrës, work is being done for the full disclosure of this criminal activity, identification and bringing to justice and other persons implicated in this activity.
