New details for the ferry line Greece-Italy, ‘Euroferry Olympia’ that was engulfed in flames in the early hours of this morning, while 11 people are reported missing.
Two people were found trapped inside and were trying to pull them out while explosions were heard from the ship’s garage.
There were 239 passengers and 51 crew members on board. The captain of the ferry demanded and ordered her abandonment and the passengers immediately boarded the lifeboats. Three Greek Coast Guard ships, tugboats and other nearby ships arrived at the scene immediately.
