Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Russia in the International Court of Justice following the invasion of the country by Moscow.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that the country submitted its request to the UN Supreme Court in The Hague.
“Russia must be held accountable for manipulating the notion of genocide to justify aggression,” Zelensky said.
He demanded that the court immediately order Russia to stop its occupation and that the country expects the trials to begin soon.
