Ukrainian forces have shot down a Russian plane in Mariupol, according to the local council.
In a statement posted on the Telegram, the Mariupol City Council said the plane had destroyed the area in recent weeks.
Hundreds of thousands of residents in the area, which is a key target for Russian forces, are believed to be stranded with little food, no water and no energy.
The city has been under a barrage of Russian attacks since the beginning of the war.
