The UN High Commissioner for Refugees says about 5,133,747 Ukrainians have fled the country since the start of the Russian occupation on February 24.
Today’s figure has risen to 48,387 since Thursday.
Women and children make up 90% of those who have left the country, he says.
Some countries have accepted Ukrainian refugees, but most have gone to Poland. Nearly six of the 10 people who fled the country – 2,867,241 – went to Poland.
