In Unit 4 in Tirana, where the next meeting of socialists took place to reveal the platforms of the new candidates for president, the political leader of the SP for the District, Erion Veliaj, said that the reorganization of the structures that is happening today serves the preparation for victory in the next battle in the 2023 local elections.
Citing the example of our neighbors, who cannot reach a decision even on important issues, such as the most recent stalemate between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, Veliaj said that the Socialist party must reconfirm a clear majority with over 50% of support. in the electorate, as the only guarantee that the country will no longer depend on parties that become an obstacle to any project.
“Someone can say that we have done the main work in Tirana and ask if we need to have this majority?” Of course yes! Look at what is happening in North Macedonia and Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, 4 election processes were held over the years, because the people there could not agree on which party should have the majority. After 4 elections, a multi-party coalition was formed, but as soon as the first important topic came, such as the issue of North Macedonia, they could not do the numbers in the Parliament to vote whether they should remove the veto on Macedonia, so that Albania can also enter in the EU. Look at North Macedonia – they are also a multi-party coalition. After the veto was removed from Bulgaria, they should ask their Parliament: “Do we agree to the removal of the veto with the condition they have put on us?” So, when you don’t have the majority, when you don’t have the decision-making in hand, when you don’t have the steering wheel, when you don’t have the leadership with full authorization from the people to make decisions, we not only would not have been able to build the “Ardian Klosi” school “or the new neighborhood at “5 Maji”, but let’s forget that we could do some work in Tirana”, said Veliaj.
He pointed out that Tirana did not have the pace it has today, when once every decision of the Parliament was conditioned by small parties. “I remember that time when we were crucified in the Parliament by small parties, which we needed to make a majority. Tirana did not have the same pace. This rhythm comes to us today that Edi Rama, the Socialist Party, has a full mandate to move forward. We must always be more than half, to make sure we are more than everyone else. Our philosophy is to grow as a family. But if our philosophy is to grow, our opponents have to shrink. They say: ‘let’s remove this one because it belongs to Luli, let’s remove the other one because it belongs to Saliu, and this one belongs to “Foltor”, this other one belongs to the gallows, that one to the anti-gas, this one to the tear gas’. I’m not here crying for their plight, let them be bit by bit, because they are not our philosophy and they haven’t done anything for this city. Simply, I am saying that, even with the process of electing chairmen in the units, we are giving the message that SP is an open party, a party that is not only not tired, but on the contrary, is increasing its strength for what it will be. the third truth about Tirana”, said Veliaj.
He underlined that the Socialist Party aims not only to win the next elections, but to come out with a good result in the whole of Tirana.
