The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, hosted the family and friends of the great Albanian composer, Česk Zadeja.
This year, which coincides with the 95th anniversary of his birth, is dedicated to the work that the composer left behind, as an appreciation for the contribution he made to Albanian music and art. Zadeja was born in Shkodër in June 1927, in a citizen family, and passed away in August 1997.
“I’m glad that we dedicated this year to Professor Česk, so that people understand that today our generation walks on the shoulders of the giants of our music, to go a little further. I believe it is also a great reflection for those who are not music professionals because basically, life is a fable between those who make music and those who make noise. With music is meant the beautiful thing, like leaving a good name regardless of your profession, while with noise is meant to hinder and sabotage regardless of your profession. Therefore, today, as we remember Professor Českú, the challenge for each of us is to be people who make music, who leave good works, to be remembered for a positive contribution and energy, not to be noisy, nor obstructive, nor sabotaging”said Veliaj.
The mayor added that great people like Česk Zadeja should be constantly remembered, as he underlined that every school in Tirana should have a concert hall for children and young people passionate about music.
“Every new school in Tirana is being equipped with a concert hall. We started with the “Tonin Arapi” hall at the Tirana High School, we did the same at the other music school, “Servete Maçi”, and the order is to have such halls in every school because people do not live only by bread, but also with art and music. Perhaps, not everyone will become part of our philharmonic, just as not everyone in sports can become like Messi or Ronaldo, but both music and sports, more than elite talents, produce us community life, chuna and goca worthy of being citizens, who understand that we are a team”said Veliaj.
