The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, during the meeting with the residents of Unit 5, said that this is also one of the areas of the capital that the value of the property is increasing every day and more.
Veliaj added that after the elections, the Municipality of Tirana will take an initiative in favor of small business.
“For the entire coffee industry, bars and restaurants that work in the area of the former Bloc, we will make an amnesty, for the abolition of taxes paid to the municipality. But, since we are in a situation when the CEC does not allow us to do this now, because it is considered a campaign, we will make the decision right after the elections“, Explained Veliaj.
The mayor said that many decisions that the Municipality of Tirana could take immediately, today is forced to postpone after the elections due to the decision of the CEC.
“We are in a situation when the CEC has imposed some obligations on us, only for the opponent to enter the game. Just like when we were children, they told us to let the ball grab the neighborhood’s owl. Therefore, many things that we want and will do this year, we are forced to leave after the election, whether to respect these rules, to give the opponent the opportunity to catch the ball in the game. But the question is: Are we sober enough on April 25 to vote for the one that brings the vaccine, that builds new neighborhoods and homes?“, He continued.
Veliaj ironized the leader of the Democrats, Basha, when he said that “it is good that he did not do the tram, but what did he do for the youth?” He confessed that in 2014, when the Municipality of Tirana was run by Basha, he defended a strip club, which the Ministry of Youth had selected to turn into the first youth center in Tirana.
“What is today a youth center on Kavaja Street, once was a strip club, owned by the municipality. In 2014, when I was Minister of Youth, we asked the Municipality of Tirana, led by Lul Basha, to turn this property of the municipality, from a strip club, into a youth center, as it is today. I remember that at that time Luli Municipal Police was protecting the strip club, which they had rented. “Meanwhile, there was no youth center in Tirana.” reminded Veliaj.
The mayor said that members from PD, LSI or PDIU are joining the Socialist Party every day, because they are seeing who works and who leaves office.
