Ukraine has extended martial law for three months until August 23.
President Volodymyr Zelensky first signed the decree, along with a general call for military mobilization, on February 24 and has since extended it for a month on two occasions.
Today, Ukraine’s parliament voted by an absolute majority for a third extension, while Russia continues to focus its offensive in the eastern Donbas region.
Zelensky’s representative in the Constitutional Court, Fedir Venislavskyy, said the decision to extend it for 90 days this time was because a “counterattack requires more time than defense.”
