About 13,000 investigations into alleged war crimes by Russian soldiers are under way in Ukraine, according to the country’s attorney general.
Since the indictment, Russia has consistently denied committing atrocities during the war in Ukraine.
Earlier today, a 21-year-old Russian soldier, Sergeant Vadim Shishimarin, was sentenced to life in prison for killing an unarmed civilian.
Shishimarin admitted that he had shot Oleksandr Shelipov, 62, from a car as Russian soldiers entered the village of Chupakhivka four days after the invasion.
