A French team has arrived in Ukraine to help local investigators verify war crimes charges in the capital Kiev.
The news was announced by the French ambassador, Etienne de Poncins, who said through an announcement on Twitter that it was the first country to offer such support.
Allegations of killing civilians in Bucha sparked global outrage last week. Ukraine claims that about 1,222 bodies were found in areas near Kiev, after the withdrawal of Russian troops.
For its part, Russia denies that its soldiers were guilty.
